Soccer Recap: Cumberland Comes Up Short

Cumberland has been on a difficult stretch since their win on the 2nd. They fell just short of the Washburn Castle Guards by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Washburn this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-1 back in September.

Cumberland's goal came courtesy of Lan SeLLent, who's now up to two this season.

Cumberland's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7-5. As for Washburn, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-4.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Cumberland is set to square off against their familiar foe Ashland at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Washburn will challenge rival Hayward at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. This will be Washburn's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
