Basketball Game Preview: Marco Island Academy Rays vs. Everglades City Gators

Marco Island Academy and Everglades City are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2021, but not for long. The Marco Island Academy Rays will head out to face off against the Everglades City Gators at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.

Last Thursday, Marco Island Academy came up short against Babcock and fell 51-44.

Meanwhile, Everglades City played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 61-41 to Donahue Catholic. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Gators have suffered since December 20, 2024.

Marco Island Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Everglades City, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-10.

Marco Island Academy was taken down by Everglades City 79-32 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Marco Island Academy was down 52-16.
