Maize South waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the Kapaun Mt. Carmel Crusaders by a score of 2-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 back in August.

Maize South never let Kapaun Mt. Carmel on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-15.

Sage Illian paced Maize South's offense, picking up nine kills. Illian got some help from Autumn Popp and her 19 assists. Jayla Reed controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Maize South's win bumped their record up to 36-4. As for Kapaun Mt. Carmel, with the defeat, they broke their eight-match winning streak and moved their record to 27-11.

Maize South wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against Great Bend on the 30th. As for Kapaun Mt. Carmel, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Blue Valley Southwest on the 30th.
