Softball Game Preview: Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cougars vs. Carver A&T Wildcats

Erin Martin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned (and six unearned) runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

Meanwhile, Carver A&T posted their closest win since April 1st on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Dundalk 10-9. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Owls: they've now won six in a row.

Lily Anderson made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched six innings while giving up three earned (and five unearned) runs off ten hits. Anderson was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Allyson Gray was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Mihm, who went 1-for-2 with three runs.

Carver A&T's victory bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Our Lady of Mount Carmel, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10.
