Baseball Recap: Stratford Comes Up Short

Stratford has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 2.46 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Thursday. They came up short against the Edgar Wildcats, falling 10-4. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

Jack Tubbs was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Stratford's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Edgar, they pushed their record up to 11-4 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Stratford and Edgar should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Wisconsin Rankings. The Tigers (ranked 79th) will meet Chequamegon (ranked 265th) at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Edgar will square off against Phillips at 4:45 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (113 vs. 370).
