Basketball Game Preview: Hilltop Lancers vs. Castle Park Trojans

The Hilltop Lancers are taking a road trip to take on the Castle Park Trojans at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hilltop is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.

Hilltop is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Chula Vista on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Hilltop was outmatched by Chula Vista and fell 68-41.

Despite the defeat, Hilltop saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Adrian Alvarez went 5 for 7 to rack up 12 points and four steals. With that strong performance, Alvarez is now averaging an impressive 2 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Grant, who posted four points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Castle Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 60-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sweetwater.

Castle Park's defeat dropped their record down to 8-15. As for Hilltop, their loss dropped their record down to 8-16.

Hilltop came up short against Castle Park in their previous matchup last Friday, falling 55-50. Can Hilltop avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
