Softball Recap: Perrydale Has No Trouble Against Country Christian

Perrydale lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Country Christian, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's match. The Pirates were the clear victors by a 20-10 margin over the Cougars on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Pirates, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Sophie Jackson was incredible, going a perfect 6-for-6 with four runs, three doubles, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Mallory Gunther, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Perrydale kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 28 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 14 hits in four consecutive games.

Perrydale's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.3 runs over those games. As for Country Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4-1.
