Recap: John Paul II Golden Warrriors vs. Cross Schools Stingrays
The John Paul II Golden Warrriors can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent match on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 62-40 margin over Cross Schools. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win John Paul II has posted yet this season.
Brady Mahoney was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Termini, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Several Stingrays players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ryan Mayers, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Mayers has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Sydney Hollings was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Cross Schools struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as John Paul II racked up 17 assists.
John Paul II has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Cross Schools, their defeat ended a eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. John Paul II will play host again and welcome Hilton Head Prep, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cross Schools, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Varsity Opponent at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
