Softball Game Preview: Carlyle Indians/Lady Indians vs. Red Bud Musketeers

The Carlyle Indians/Lady Indians will venture away from home to challenge the Red Bud Musketeers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

On Tuesday, Carlyle got the win against Red Bud by a conclusive 9-3. Considering the Indians/Lady Indians have won four matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Ava Meyer made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Kyra Beckemeyer was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Raelyn Harris was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run.

This is the second loss in a row for Red Bud and nudges their season record down to 10-5. As for Carlyle, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
