Basketball Recap: Delhi's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Delhi had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They walked away with a 66-57 win over the St. Frederick Warriors. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 44-41 on January 3rd.

Delhi's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jay Wright, who posted 15 points and four steals. Dustin D Ykes was another key player, going 8 for 13 en route to 16 points and three steals.

Delhi smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in four consecutive matchups.

Delhi pushed their record up to 12-12 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for St. Frederick, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 15-9.

Delhi and Delta Charter will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. As for St. Frederick, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Block at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
