Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Monroe). They blew past the Central Academy Cougars, posting a 75-35 victory. The Redhawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 27 points or more this season.

Monroe got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Bryson Simpkins out in front who went 5 of 8 on his way to 16 points. Joey Shearin was another key player, putting up nine points and five boards.

Monroe smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Monroe has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season. As for Central Academy, they are on a 16-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-22.

Looking ahead, Monroe and Union Academy will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. As for Central Academy, they are taking a road trip to take on Parkwood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
