Basketball Game Preview: Gig Harbor Tides vs. Mount Tahoma T-Birds

The Gig Harbor Tides will head out on the road to take on the Mount Tahoma T-Birds at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Gig Harbor will be strutting in after a victory while Mount Tahoma will be coming in after a defeat.

On Wednesday, Gig Harbor beat Central Kitsap 54-44.

Meanwhile, Mount Tahoma was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 21st straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by Bellarmine Prep and fell 75-15. While losing is never fun, the T-Birds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 329th, while the Lions are ranked 45th).

Mount Tahoma's defeat dropped their record down to 0-19. As for Gig Harbor, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-9.

Everything came up roses for Gig Harbor against Mount Tahoma when the teams last played on January 8th, as the team secured a 68-24 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Gig Harbor since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
