Volleyball Recap: Miller School of Albemarle's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against North Cross, Miller School of Albemarle was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top against the Tandem Friends Badgers by a score of 3-1. The victory was some much needed relief for the Mavericks as it spelled an end to their four-match losing streak.

Miller School of Albemarle had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 15-25, 25-16, 25-21, 25-21.

Miller School of Albemarle got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Alanna Lewis out in front who had nine digs, seven kills, and five aces. That's the most aces Lewis has posted over her last five contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Wells, who had 20 assists and five digs.

They weren't the only good servers: Miller School of Albemarle was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 19 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces every time they've taken the court this season.

Miller School of Albemarle's victory bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Tandem Friends, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season.

As of now, neither Miller School of Albemarle nor Tandem Friends have any future games scheduled.
