Softball Game Preview: Yulee Hornets vs. Hilliard Red Flashes

The Yulee Hornets will take on the Hilliard Red Flashes at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Yulee and six for Hilliard.

On Tuesday, Yulee didn't have quite enough to beat Paxon School For Advanced Studies and fell 5-4.

Yulee saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jade Fisher, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, Hilliard didn't have quite enough to beat Bishop Snyder on Tuesday and fell 5-3.

Kierstin Northern made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one home run. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Peighton Self, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Hilliard's record now sits at 2-7. As for Yulee, they now have a losing record of 4-5-1.

Yulee skirted past Hilliard 4-2 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Does Yulee have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hilliard turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
