Volleyball Recap: Durango Demons vs. Montrose Red Hawks
Durango lost against Montrose back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Demons came up short against the Red Hawks, falling 3-0.
The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-16, 25-23.
Hadyn Neiman paced Durango's offense, picking up 14 kills. Neiman got some help from Indie Shows and her 28 assists. Devyn Edwards controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.
Montrose was led to victory by Reina Contreras and Amaya Potter. Contreras had 18 digs and two assists, while Potter had 11 digs and one assist. Those 18 digs gave Contreras a new career-high.
Durango's loss dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Montrose, they pushed their record up to 15-0 with the win, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Coincidentally, Durango and Montrose will both be playing Grand Junction Central the next time they take the court. The Red Hawks will host the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Demons will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
