Basketball Recap: Forest Lake Academy's Luck Changes for the Better on Saturday

Forest Lake Academy had to endure an 11-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They escaped with a win on Saturday against the Harvest Community Warriors by the margin of a single free throw, 46-45.

Forest Lake Academy can attribute much of their success to Isaiah Paradise, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 14 points and six boards. Kai Smith also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

When it comes to explaining why Harvest Community lost, don't look at Adam Lawson. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. The matchup was Lawson's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Ryan Pritchard was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and 11 boards.

Forest Lake Academy's win bumped their record up to 2-11. As for Harvest Community, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-12.

Forest Lake Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 70-30 defeat against Bridge to Independence on the 21st. Harvest Community has also already played their next contest, a 66-59 loss against Global Outreach Charter Academy on the 21st.
