Softball Game Preview: Rolling Meadows Mustangs vs. Buffalo Grove Bison

Rolling Meadows hasn't had much luck against Buffalo Grove recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Mustangs will square off against the Bison at 4:45 p.m. Buffalo Grove took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Rolling Meadows, who comes in off a win.

On Wednesday, Rolling Meadows needed a bit of extra time to put away Elk Grove. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Grenadiers 7-6. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Mustangs as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Caylee Del Boccio was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Brand, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI and one run.

Rolling Meadows was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .382. They are 8-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Meanwhile, Buffalo Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 11-1 to Hersey.

Rolling Meadows' record is now 9-18. As for Buffalo Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 10-14.

Rolling Meadows might still be hurting after the 15-3 defeat they got from Buffalo Grove in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
