Soccer Game Preview: Lake View vs. Austin

The Lake View Chiefs/Maidens will face off against the Austin Panthers at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.

Lake View is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Cooper just ended the team's 19-match winning streak on Monday. They and the Cougars finished up their match with a 2-2 draw. The result kept Lake View happy, as they haven't lost a game since January 2nd.

Jeremy Zavala and Ulises Chavez scored both of Lake View's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 46 goals.

Meanwhile, Austin came tearing into last Tuesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 goals), and they left with even more momentum. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was the Panthers who were credited with the victory. Two seems to be a good number for them as the team scooped up a win with the same number of goals in their previous game.

Lake View's draw gives them a new season record of 19-2-1. As for Austin, their victory bumped their record up to 15-9.
