Basketball Game Preview: Winter Park Wildcats vs. Apopka Blue Darters

The Winter Park Wildcats will challenge the Apopka Blue Darters at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Winter Park will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Winter Park is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They strolled past Lake Brantley with points to spare, taking the game 46-32. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while the Patriots are ranked 167th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Apopka posted their closest victory since January 22, 2024 on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Colonial, sneaking past 57-54. The win was nothing new for the Blue Darters as they're now sitting on three straight.

Winter Park's victory bumped their record up to 20-7. As for Apopka, their win bumped their record up to an identical 20-7.

Winter Park strolled past Apopka in their previous matchup back in November of 2024 by a score of 57-42. The rematch might be a little tougher for Winter Park since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
