Basketball Recap: SouthLake Christian Academy Comes Up Short

If SouthLake Christian Academy was feeling good fresh off their 86-25 takedown of Gaston Day last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The SouthLake Christian Academy Eagles took a 49-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Metrolina Christian Academy Warriors. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 463rd, while the Warriors are ranked 225th).

Metrolina Christian Academy was led to victory by Emily King and Jenna Carlson. King posted 27 points and five boards, while Carlson had eight points and 13 rebounds. The matchup was King's fifth in a row with at least ten points.

SouthLake Christian Academy dropped their record down to 3-10 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Metrolina Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.
