Basketball Recap: Lakin's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Lakin had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 43 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 68-58 win over the Dodge City Demons. The Broncs pushed the score to 56-35 by the end of the third, a deficit the Demons cut but never quite recovered from.

Lakin's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Dodge City, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-4.

Lakin will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Syracuse at 6:30 p.m. on January 10, 2025. Syracuse knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Lakin likes a good challenge. Dodge City will also get a bit of a break before their next match: they'll face off against Woodward at 2:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Woodward has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 223 points over their last three contests.
