Jordon Gomez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits. Gomez was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with four stolen bases and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Daija Suits, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season. Elle Nare was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.
Meanwhile, Cobleskill-Richmondville entered their tilt with Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville on Friday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They didn't even let the Wolves on the board, marking their second-straight 3-0 shutout.
Ryleigh Briggs and Danica Palmer did most of the damage at the plate: Briggs went 1-for-3 with one home run, while Palmer went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Cobleskill-Richmondville's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Fort Plain, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.
Monday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Fort Plain has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .438.
