Bakersfield Christian proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by three) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Garces Memorial 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Eagles have posted since August 27th.

Bakersfield Christian was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-19, 22-25, 25-17, 16-14.

Meanwhile, Clovis East lost 3-0 to Buchanan on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Timberwolves in their meetings with the Bears: they've now lost nine in a row.

Clovis East took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-17, 25-23.

Clovis East's defeat dropped their record down to 13-17. As for Bakersfield Christian, their win bumped their record up to 14-8.
