West Clermont and Walnut Hills are an even 4-4 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The Wolves will be playing at home against the Eagles at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

On Wednesday, West Clermont didn't have quite enough to beat Little Miami and fell 2-1. The matchup marked the Wolves' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

West Clermont saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gavin Speranza, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. That stolen base was Speranza's first of the season.

Meanwhile, Walnut Hills came up short against Turpin on Wednesday, falling 14-2. The Eagles have struggled against the Spartans recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

This is the second loss in a row for West Clermont and nudges their season record down to 3-2. As for Walnut Hills, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

West Clermont couldn't quite finish off Walnut Hills when the teams last played back in April of 2024 and fell 6-4. Can the Wolves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
