Volleyball Game Preview: Castle View Sabercats vs. Littleton Public Schools

The Castle View Sabercats will square off against Littleton Public Schools at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Sabercats fans will have to keep waiting for their team to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Saturday's season opener. They walked away with a 3-1 win over Valor Christian on Saturday.

Castle View had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 21-25, 26-24, 25-15, 25-21.

Castle View relied on the efforts of Talus Frederick, who had 20 digs and four assists, and Karsen Staples, who had ten kills, seven digs, and one block. Those 20 digs gave Frederick a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Littleton Public Schools got the win against Denver East on Thursday by a conclusive 3-0.

While Littleton Public Schools won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-18, 25-22.

Castle View better keep an eye on Hayden DeJager. He was instrumental in Littleton Public Schools' win, getting 21 assists and seven digs. DeJager has been hot for a while, having posted 16 or more assists the last 11 times he's played.
