The Huntland Hornets will head out to take on the Grundy County Yellowjackets at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Huntland will be strutting in after a victory while Grundy County will be coming in after a loss.

Huntland is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against South Pittsburg on Friday as they made off with a 10-2 win.

Grant Jernigan made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Huntland let Jed Ashley and Matthew Dickson run wild. Ashley scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Dickson scored two runs while going 1-for-3. Huntland's victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-8. As for Grundy County, their loss dropped their record down to 3-13.

Huntland skirted past Grundy County 2-1 when the teams last played back in April of 2019. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hornets since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
