O'Connell waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 65-58 victory over the Hardin-Jefferson Hawks.

Hardin-Jefferson lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Ethan East, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 boards. The dominant performance gave East a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Larson, who posted 23 points and six rebounds.

O'Connell's win bumped their record up to 22-5. As for Hardin-Jefferson, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-13.

O'Connell will square off against Brazosport Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in O'Connell's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests. As for Hardin-Jefferson, they will face off against Shepherd at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hardin-Jefferson is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.6 points per game this season.
