After a string of three wins, Trinity Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They lost to the Sanderson Spartans on the road by a 65-50 margin. The contest marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sanderson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Malakhi Murphy, who went 10 of 12 on his way to 22 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Gordie Balas, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 15 points and eight rebounds.

Trinity Academy's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Sanderson, their victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1.

Trinity Academy will take on Leesville Road in a holiday battle at at 5:00 p.m. on December 20th. As for Sanderson, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Heritage at 6:00 p.m. One thing working in Sanderson's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven matches.
