Volleyball Recap: Buena Comes Up Short

Buena's tournament run continued when they took on Verrado on Friday. The Colts fell 2-0 to the Vipers. The Colts have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Zachary Doerksen was the offensive standout of the matchup as he had 12 assists and five aces. He is on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 12 or more in each of the last six games he's played. Abraham Lopez also deserves some recognition as he had his first block of the season.

Buena's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Verrado, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

Coincidentally, Buena and Verrado will both be playing Flowing Wells the next time they take the court. The Vipers will head out to face the Caballeros at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Colts will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
