Basketball Recap: Papillion-Lavista South Extends Home Winning Streak to Eight

Papillion-LaVista South hadn't done well against Bellevue West recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Papillion-LaVista South Titans came out on top against the Bellevue West Thunderbirds by a score of 71-62. For the Titans, this counts as revenge for the 82-76 win the Thunderbirds walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Papillion-LaVista South's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Reece Kircher led the charge by going 7 of 14 on his way to 20 points and five boards. That's the most points Kircher has posted since back in February of 2024. Bryson Bahl was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.

Bellevue West's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Robert Garcia, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten boards. Garcia is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Brayden Mauro, who went 5 for 9 en route to 15 points.
