Softball Recap: Cardinal Newman Comes Up Short

Cardinal Newman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Providence Athletic Club Panthers, falling 14-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-12 back in March.

Cardinal Newman's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Providence Athletic Club, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-1.

Cardinal Newman wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 5-3 victory against Hammond on the 10th. As for Providence Athletic Club, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 7-4 win against Heathwood Hall Episcopal on the 11th.
