Softball Recap: Whittier Christian Drops Season-High Score on Village Christian

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Whittier Christian). They were the clear victor by a 16-0 margin over the Village Christian Crusaders on Tuesday. With that win, the Heralds brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.

The team relied heavily on Joy Jung, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI. Another player making a difference was Gigi Bojorquez, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Whittier Christian hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in seven consecutive games.

Whittier Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. Village Christian now has a losing record of 1-2.

Whittier Christian will have a chance to go back-to-back against Village Christian: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
