Kingston dropped their record down to 5-3 on Thursday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They fell 5-2 to the Peck Pirates. The game marked the Cardinals' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

As for Peck, their win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games.

For Peck's part, Ryleigh Ureel made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. Ureel was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and one double.

In other batting news, Kendra Kosal was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Allie Taylor was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Kingston beat Peck by a score of 13-5 later that day.
