Softball Recap: Milton Academy Comes Up Short

If Milton Academy was riding high fresh off their 15-0 takedown of Thayer Academy on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mustangs lost 23-14 to the Governor's Academy Governors on Wednesday.

Sophie Crowley made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and fired off two home runs, nine RBI, and four runs while going 5-for-5. She continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sadie Patel, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with four runs, one double, and one RBI.

Milton Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Governor's Academy, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Milton Academy will square off against Winsor at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Governor's Academy, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Thayer Academy at 3:15 p.m. on May 13.
