Softball Recap: East Hickman County Comes Up Short

After flying high against Hickman County two weeks ago, East Hickman County came back down to earth. East Hickman County came up short against the Columbia Central Lions on Monday, falling 14-8. The Eagles have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Kylee Litton was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-5 with three RBI and one double. Adelynn Oakley also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

East Hickman County's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Columbia Central, they moved to 8-3 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

We've got a battle between Eagles coming up. East Hickman County's pitchers better be ready for this one: Nashville Christian has averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season. As for Columbia Central, they will take on Shelbyville Central at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Shelbyville Central has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.33 runs per game on average), something Columbia Central will no doubt try to take advantage of.
