Basketball Recap: Lower Richland Comes Up Short

Lower Richland was the 55-52 winner over Crestwood when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. The Lower Richland Diamond Hornets took a 61-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Crestwood Knights on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Diamond Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 127th, while the Knights are ranked tenth).

Lower Richland's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Crestwood, they pushed their record up to 9-0 with the win, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Lower Richland and White Knoll will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 8:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025. White Knoll is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.4 points per game this season. As for Crestwood, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Wilson at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. One thing working in Wilson's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last ten matchups.
