Fullerton waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured an 18-14 W against the San Pedro Pirates. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Indians' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 71st, while the Pirates are ranked 18th).

Despite the defeat, San Pedro saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Fatima Ramirez picked up 58 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Fullerton's win bumped their record up to 16-6. As for San Pedro, they moved to 14-2 with that loss, which also ended their eight-game winning streak.

Fullerton wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 25-19 victory against Corona del Mar on the 4th. As for San Pedro, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 34-13 win against Inglewood on the 4th.
