Soccer Game Preview: West Jones vs. Sumrall

The West Jones Mustangs will square off against the Sumrall Bobcats at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Sumrall took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on West Jones, who comes in off a win.

West Jones is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. Their defense stepped up to hand Laurel a 10-0 shutout on Tuesday. The high-scoring effort was just what West Jones needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Meanwhile, after soaring to five goals the game before, Sumrall was a bit more limited in their matchup on Tuesday. They fell just short of Ocean Springs by a score of 1-0. The loss was Sumrall's first of the season.

West Jones has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-1-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 17 goals over those five matches. Having lost for the first time this season, Sumrall fell to 8-1-1.
