Softball Recap: Lake Forest Scouts vs. Stevenson Patriots
Lake Forest had lost five straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 2-18 to make it six. They lost 15-0 to the Stevenson Patriots. That's two games in a row now that the Scouts have lost by exactly 15 runs.
As for Stevenson, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 18 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games.
For Stevenson's part, Aubrey Jepson was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most doubles Jepson has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Sara Saiki, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Coming up, Lake Forest will face off against Waukegan at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Scouts are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a 17-game losing streak. As for Stevenson, they will take on Warren Township at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
