Football Recap: Granbury Pirates vs. University Trojans
Granbury won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They lost 34-14 to the University Trojans. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2021.
University's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was JD Bell, who rushed for 104 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Cade Bynnom, who gained 107 total yards and a touchdown.
Granbury dropped their record down to 1-1 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for University, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.
Granbury will square off against Birdville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for University, they will stay at home for another week and welcome China Spring at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
