Stanfield and Grant Union are an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2015, but not for long. The Tigers will head out on the road to challenge the Prospectors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Stanfield is looking for their season's first victory.

Stanfield is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Heppner last Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Tigers had to suffer through a 74-6 loss at the hands of the Mustangs. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon football rankings (they are ranked 77th, while the Mustangs are ranked second).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Grant Union). They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 46-6 win over Riverside. The Prospectors haven't had any issues with the Pirates recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Grant Union now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Stanfield, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Stanfield was able to grind out a solid win over Grant Union in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, winning 42-33. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
