Volleyball Recap: Lakeview Comes Up Short

Lakeview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the South Range Raiders. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: South Range scored at least 18 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 22-25, 25-20, 25-18.

Despite the loss, Lakeview still got an impressive performance from Cece DeToro, who had three digs and two aces. DeToro is also crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season.

South Range can attribute much of their success to Parker Zwingler, who had 15 assists and eight digs.

Lakeview's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for South Range, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Lakeview didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Jefferson Area on the 21st. As for South Range, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Poland Seminary on the 21st.
