Recap: Stevens Falcons vs. Sotomayor WILDCATS

The Stevens Falcons suffered their biggest loss since November 14, 2023 on Tuesday. They were beaten by Sotomayor 74-36. Stevens was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-17.

Stevens' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mya Guzman, who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Giana Monda, who scored ten points.

Sotomayor's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jordan Pete, who scored 18 points along with six assists. Pete hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Corina Barrera, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds.

Stevens has been struggling recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-16 record this season. As for Sotomayor, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season.

Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Holmes the next time they take the court. Stevens will head out to face Holmes at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Sotomayor will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
