Soccer Recap: Hanks Comes Up Short

There was early excitement for Hanks after they claimed the first goal on Wednesday, however, they wouldn't score again. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Burges Mustangs who were credited with the victory. The Burges Mustangs got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to the Hanks Knights' two. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 357th, while the Mustangs are ranked 169th).

Hanks' goal came courtesy of Sebastian Morales Manzur, who's now up to three this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Hanks and nudges their season record down to 2-5. As for Burges, their record now sits at 6-2-2.

Hanks didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Socorro on the 18th. Burges has also already played their next game, a 1-1 win against Pebble Hills on the 18th.
