Softball Recap: Timothy Christian Trojans vs. Fenton Bison
Timothy Christian easily dispatched St. Edward on Wednesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Trojans fell just short of the Fenton Bison by a score of 11-9 on Friday. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bison apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.
Sophia Mook and Lauren Kottke stepped up to the plate in a big way. Mook went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Kottke went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double. That triple marked the first that Kottke has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Wetterquist, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.
Timothy Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Fenton, they pushed their record up to 10-12 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.
Coming up, Timothy Christian will host Chicago Hope Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Timothy Christian's pitchers better be ready for this one: Chicago Hope Academy has averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season.
