Volleyball Game Preview: Pinelands Regional Wildcats vs. Holmdel Hornets

Pinelands Regional is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They blew past Seneca 3-0.

While Pinelands Regional won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 27-25, 25-16.

Pinelands Regional got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jayda Quigley out in front who had 22 digs, eight kills, and two aces. The dominant performance also gave Quigley a new career-high in assists (three). Chloe Tucker was another key player, getting five digs and three aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Pinelands Regional was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in seven consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Holmdel posted their closest win since November 7, 2024 on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Governor Livingston 3-2.

Holmdel took Governor Livingston into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-13, 25-22, 23-25, 16-14.

Pinelands Regional's victory bumped their record up to 25-4. As for Holmdel, their win bumped their record up to 19-1.
