Basketball Game Preview: Braddock Bulldogs vs. Archbishop Carroll Bulldogs

The Braddock Bulldogs will venture away from home to take on the Archbishop Carroll Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Braddock is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.8 points per game this season.

Last Tuesday, Braddock came up short against Central and fell 66-53. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 432nd, while the Rockets are ranked 47th).

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Luca De La Paz, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten boards. He has been hot, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Ray Estay, who posted 13 points.

Meanwhile, Archbishop Carroll also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Florida Christian by a score of 58-46. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Patriots recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Braddock's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-14. As for Archbishop Carroll, their loss dropped their record down to 12-8.

Braddock strolled past Archbishop Carroll in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a score of 74-60. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Archbishop Carroll's Luka Vlahovic, who went 10 for 15 on his way to 25 points and seven boards.
