Baseball Recap: Bunker Takes a Loss

Bunker extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to four on Monday, dropping them down to 0-3. They lost 10-0 to the Clearwater Fightin' Tigers. The Eagles were not able to make up for their defeat to the Fightin' Tigers from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.

Bunker saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayton Skaggs, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Clearwater's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-8. They not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since May 13, 2025 (when they won 11-0).

On Clearwater's side, Landon Machmahan and Jackson Ottwell made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Machmahan didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Ottwell pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. At bat, Machmahan got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one double and one RBI, while Ottwell got on base in all three of his plate appearances with four stolen bases and one run. That RBI marked the first that Machmahan has brought in this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lucian Harris, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. Isaac Crum was another key player, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Looking ahead, Bunker will host Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Clearwater, they will venture away from home to challenge Doniphan at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Fightin' Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Dons and Donettes have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season.
