Recap: Tuscumbia Lions vs. Calvary Lutheran Lions
The Tuscumbia Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They fell to Calvary Lutheran 64-58. Tuscumbia has struggled against Calvary Lutheran recently, as their game on Thursday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Lions players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Benley Boggs, who scored 23 points. Damon Whittle was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds.
Tuscumbia's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Calvary Lutheran, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tuscumbia won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Chamois at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th. Chamois is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Calvary Lutheran, they will head out on the road to face off against Columbia Independent at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Columbia Independent focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 last Thursday.
