Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Alta

Alta had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Corner Canyon Chargers a 12-0 shutout. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Addyson Brownell was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Anabel Velador also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

Alta always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They are 5-2 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Alta's record now sits at 7-14. As for Corner Canyon, their loss was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-23.

Alta does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Corner Canyon, they will face off against Lone Peak at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
